The title ‘fascination’ says it all. From 20th – 22nd November 2009 160 exhibitors from 7 countries presented model engineering at its best and offered visitors a high quality sales exhibition accompanied by spectacular shows and attractive special displays. In halls 4 and 6 of the Bremen Exhibition Centre spectators gained insight into the world of model making on land, on water and in the air. Model ships circled the water pool, remote controlled trucks laboured over layouts of earth and rubble, while small RC slow flyers drew pirouettes under the roof of the hall. Model railways chugged around attractively landscaped railway layouts, and remote controlled racing cars enthralled spectators as they sped around the racetrack. “We are very happy with the attendance of almost 24,000 visitors”, concludes Andreas Wittur, manager of Messe Sinsheim, the organizer of Faszination Modellbau in Bremen. “This result met our expectations and we were able to keep up the high standard of quality and diversity that we apply to all our model fairs”.
Changing to a biennial cycleIn future Faszination Modellbau Bremen will be changing into a biennial event, as Messe Sinsheim takes over the organisation of Modellbahn, the international exhibition for model railways and accessories, hobby and toys, from 18th – 21st November 2010 at the Cologne Exhibition Centre. “We have included the industry in this decision and have scheduled the dates for our model fairs to suit the requirements of the branch. The ‘International’ will continue to take place every two years in Cologne, a rhythm that enables the industry to accommodate the development and manufacture of new products as well as preparation of their trade fair presentation”, Andreas Wittur explains the decision for the new cycle. The 5th Faszination Modellbau Bremen will therefore be held from 18th – 20th November 2011.
